As soon as we hit the summit we were faced with clear blue skies and a beautiful run through the mountains to Tabriz.

Tabriz
An extraordinary days driving today through the mountains. James started driving in miserable conditions, raining and mist with manual wipers! Better than mo wipers. We started with a hill climb of approximate 40km winding through a forest. Very steep and slippery, not what a heavy old girl like ours enjoys.

Gosh - that brings back memories. Charlie Heneage, Charles Clarke & I had 3 days in nick just outside Tabriz. Charlie shared a cell with someone who had just had his hand removed for stealing ... and the guard fancied him! It was rather like 'Midnight Express'. What a wonderful journey - best wishes for the rest of the way.
